ISO 26262功能安全標準指的是要求車載電子電氣系統在檢測到潛在的危險情況，啟動保護或糾正裝置，以防止發生危險事件或提供緩解措施以減少危險事件的后果，確保產品安全運行，即便出現問題也能夠最大程度減少傷害。在電動化及智能化程度最高的新能源汽車中，原有的機械部件被越來越多的電子器件所替代，復雜的系統使得功能安全變得更加重要。2018年5月，ISO 26262功能安全標準正式開始實施，中國汽車行業全產業鏈加速功能安全技術的推進，功能安全也逐漸成為汽車廠商顯示其競爭力的關鍵之一。

China NEV Functional Safety Summit 2021
ISO 26262 functional safety standard refers to when the on-board electrical and electronic system detects a potentially dangerous situation, it can activate protection or corrective devices to prevent dangerous incidents or provide mitigation measures to reduce the consequences of dangerous incidents and ensure the safe operation of products. The system can also minimize damage if something goes wrong. Among the most electrified and intelligent new energy vehicles, the original mechanical parts are replaced by more and more electronic devices, and the complex system makes functional safety more important. In May 2018, the ISO 26262 functional safety standard officially began to be implemented.
